Question: How do you determine the match schedule?
Answer: The draw follows the CMAS Procedures and Obligations for the Organisation of Underwater Hockey Competitions – Second Edition.
Clause 3.3
3.3.1 If twelve (12) or fewer teams participate in a division, a full round-robin will be scheduled.
3.3.2 If thirteen (13) to twenty four (24) teams participate in a division, a qualification round will be held prior to the round robin section play. Seeding of teams will be necessary.
- Elite Men Division: 12 Teams- Clause 3.3.1- Full Round Robin
- Elite Women Division: 13 teams- Clause 3.3.2- Qualification Groups followed by Intersection Round Robin. Qualification Groups are seeded based on the last World Championship Ranking.
- Masters Women Division: 5 teams- Clause 3.3.1 & 3.6.1 Double Round Robin
- Masters Men Division: 8 Teams- Clause 3.3.1- Full Round Robin

Question: For the Elite Women Grade- How does the Section Round Robin Work
Answer: The Qualification Groups follow clause 3.6.4 of CMAS Procedures and Obligations for the Organisation of Underwater Hockey Competitions – Second Edition.

Once the section Round Robin play is completed and the final seeding of the teams is known, there will be a playoff for qualification into the Quarter Final. Clause 3.6.8
7th Seed Championship Group versus 2nd Seed Non-Championship Group. The winner is the 7th Seed in Quarter Final. The team that loses will be 2nd Seed in the 9th to 13th Playoffs.
8th Seed Championship Group versus 1st Seed Non-Championship Group. The winner is the 8th Seed in Quarter Final. The team that loses will be 1st Seed in the 9th to 13th Playoffs.
Question: How do we obtain an invitation letter to support our teams’ athletes or support personnel to obtain a VISA to enter Australia?
Answer: When you have your confirmed team list of athletes, referees, and team support personnel, then please provide a list with Passport names, Passport Numbers to the LOC for inclusion in the invitation letter.
Question: Can players within a team have a mix of 1-piece or 2-piece, swimsuits?
Answer: Teams may have a mixture of players wearing one of 2 piece swimsuits or playing vests/suits (for religious reasons). The bathing attire will be made from material that is the same colour and pattern.
Question: How do we book paid practice time on 18th or 19th July 2023?

Answer: Bookings are AUD$65 per half-hour of court time. Bookings are on a first in first served basis.

Question: How is the allocated practice time on 20th and 21st July 2023, allocated?
Answer: Teams will be allocated one practice slot per day.
- The first day will be allocated by country
- The second day by division
Question: How do we get approval for our Swimwear?
Rule: 3.2.1 Vol 1 version 12
All players of a team must wear identical bathing attire of the same design colour and pattern, one or two-piece suit and/or rash vest and/or shirt), which may have an imprint of their flag or country. Each team must have two sets of identical bathing attire, one light in colour (when the team is using white sticks) and one dark in colour (when the team is using black sticks), and both sets need the Tournament Director’s approval prior to arrival at the competition.

Question: How do we get approval for our Playing caps?
Rule: 3.2.2 Vol 1 version 12
All ten (10) players of each team shall wear identification headgear or caps, either black (or dark blue) or white, to match the colour of the sticks the team is using. The headgear or caps must have a unique number(s) between 1 and 14 for each player of the squad.
